One of the classic Chinese furniture woods. Jichimu is highly sought after and is very expensive. Native to SE Asia.
Native to SE Asian Rainforests, at 85-90m (255-300 ft.) this is one of the tallest trees in the world. Known for the large Honeybee populations that inhabit it. Loggers avoid the trees as the honey is worth more than the wood.

Found in limestone fields in Alabama, Dynamite is often needed to extract the gorgeous root burls. The excavation needed make this one of the rarest of North American Burls and one of the most expensive.
